Hartwig defeats Miles
This winter Derek Miles has been just about as dominant in the Pole Vault as Rybakov in the High Jump, but while Rybakov extended his win streak that of Miles came to an end. 5.43 and 5.55 caused no problems but at 5.66 he missed twice before saving his last chance for 5.76 in a desperate attempt to snatch the victory. But Miles was not successful and had to be content with third place in the competition.
