Two years ago The Track and Field Athlete's Association was create to create transparency in the dealings of those who make the majority of the decisions for athletes and track and field in general. The Amature Athletics Union, The Athletics Congress and all the other international associations past and present have renamed, broken off from or changed in hopes of a new era where track and field may become what many hoped it could be. The Track and Field Athletes Association might be the best voice for athletes to gain transparency, legitimacy, and accountability in track and field while creating more meets, better financial opportunities for athletes, and a larger athlete voice.
