Another 6 meter vaulter! Lukyanenko 6.01!
What he does really well is he does not press his vault because of the height. I'd bet if you had video of his 3 or 4 other vaults en route, they'd be exactly the same jump. Most guys would try to run harder and swing faster just because it was 6m and end up with an X.

I couldn't get the link above to work, but here is the Youtube version. He looks like he is on a really tiny pole... maybe just a 490? Sick jump.

Yevgeniy Lukyanenko clears 6,01m on first attempt with a 5,10m/12.3 Pacer Carbon FX.
(I assume the guy knows what he's talking about.)
His grip height would then be at about 4.95m on his 6.01m jump. That's impressive!
hmmm... my youtube didn't say that, just said 601.

Lax PV,
If you click on "More info", you get this:
His double leg swing is amazing. Reminds me of Wolfgang Nordwig in 1972. I always used to think you needed incredible gut muscles for this, but he actually swings it like a metal vaulter, rather than muscling it.
I personally think the one-legged swing is more efficient, but you can't argue with Lukyanenko's success with his technique! I doubt that anyone's going to convince him that "he's doing it all wrong"!

Although I'm only a junior, I can assure you that the seniors are still here, just tryin as hard as they can to jump as high as possible! :-)
