I think she put it to 5.05 just so that people wouldn't say she is the sell out that she is. We might start seeing more of this, after she breaks it by a centimeter, she puts it up to something ridiculous just to keep her name clear and please the croud. Well I'm not falling for it.
All the years I trained with Stacy, she never pulled that crap. She would break the record and then try and break it again, or throw it up to 4.90. I've seen her break it twice in one meet indoors. She wanted 4.90 sooooo bad you could see the intesity in the way she would jump when the bar went up. She truley loves the sport.
Bubka; I can't wait til his record gets broken, and then he is no longer the best there ever was. He has only jumped as high as the record. I don't care how much hip hieght he had, if its not over a bar, its doesn't mean anything. My only fear is, that when it does get broken, he is going to try and find some loop hole and make it not count. He will make some rule or find some flaw in the runway or box that it was broken on and it won't count. I pray that I am wrong.......

Spectators may sooner or later become bored with the predictability of one centimeter at a time.
