The qualification for women was a high quality competition. To qualify for the final they had to jump 4.55, and 9 girls did. New finnish record, new BLR record and new greek record. Rogowska showed strength and did only two jump 4.45 and 4.55. She is clearly the favorite for tomorrows final.

Let's take a look on three girls who did not qualify:

Anna came back from injury with result close to indoor PB. Good for her.
Holly was close to her PB, 4.45 is sign of consistency, too bad she did not set another PB and went to final.
Anyone know what's happened to Angelica? Tired? Bad day? I wasn't expect final - 4.55 is pretty close to her best, but 4.45 shouldn't be a big deal for her.

According to swedish newspapers and "www.friidrott.se" Angelica just didn´t have the day. It was her first international competition together with the best, and she felt that i was a long time to wait between the attempts. She is used to be pretty alone when she starts jumping, however in Paris 14 girls were still inn at 4.45 meter. I guess this was the international competition with the highest quality ever (with respect to number of girls jumping high).

My free translation of Angelicas explanation: It was new with so much waiting, I have never been in that situation before, I am usually the only one jumping. I felt my legs was slow after all the waiting, and I felt I lost power between the jumps. However I have learned from it.

I am sure Angelica will kick back during the outdoor season !
