Hamstring/behind the knee pain

Unread postby Ming3r » Wed Mar 08, 2006 6:27 pm

Alrite, I've had this problem for about...a month now. I figure problems like this shouldn't last so long, but yeah...

Anyways, the pain started at a meet, the pain was in my lower hamstring. I attributed it to the way I vaulted, heck, both my arms were somewhat collapsed even before II jumped, and since I was inside because of it, I figured it was because of my drive...

About a week ro two later, the pain moved down behind my knee. Note, that the pain is only around when I sprint or stride out. For the first two weeks, I heated it before practice, but it never helped much so I didn't run too much. I did warm ups, and then did some muscle strengthening stuff and some pole vault exercises when we did em (like a swing and stuff) where I just worked on keepin the arms out and inverting.

Anybody got any suggestions? I stretch a bit, and am pretty flexible. I just don't understand why this hasn't healed yet...that and the sprint coach isn't too happy with me because of it, as I havn't been doin te workouts in practice. :P

Sounds like inflammation in your hamstring tendon...ice, rest, and go see your trainer!

I actually did see my trainer, and we just ended up heating it for a while and stretching...

Guess its time to whip out the ice again...
