Okay. From what I know, the bench doesn't help for your vault. My question is this: What are the specific muscle groups used in vaulting, both upper and lower body? I'm training this summer, and I want to know which muscles to spend time on and not waste it on the others. Thanks!

Deltoids (shoudlers) definitley! Abs, back muscles and laterals. At least that's what we work on!

forget muscle groups and focus on full body explosiveness. Cleans and jerks, Bench press, front sqauts and deadlifts. Make sure you do them with comfortable weights that you cantrol even if u lift them really explosive.

i agree with vaultin chris, but make sure you have someone that knows what they are doing with those lifts. even with a low amount of weight, lifts such as deadlifts, squats, and clean and jerks can harm your back very easily. but those lifts are the best for a vaulter, and also incline bench is great for shoulder strength.... enjoy..

When i do the incline bench/ bench, should i do narrow grip lifting? or does it not really matter?

in the regular bench narrow grip focuses on the tricpes and lats. U should use a regular grip usually. but there is a difference.
