Not chin-ups with your palms facing in... rather with your palms facing outward. Just wonderin' how many of those people can do...

Another good challenge is to hang from a set of olympic rings with your feet straight down.. Hold a deflated basketball between your ankles. Slowly rotate your feet forward up over and past your head until you are upside down with your feet pointing toward the ground hanging from the rings. Then rotate back forward to the starting position as slow as you possibly can. Do this drill with out dropping the basketball. Try it -- it is hard enough without the basketball -- My son Brian can do it about 30 times with out stopping -- but his face turn so red it looks like it is about to explode. LOL

31 pull ups? in a row? nice... i would say if you can do about 20 with out much hesitation there isnt much need to do more and you should focus on something else. The PFT gives a max 200 points for 20 pullups with no time limit....

just to make things fair, a pull up does not count unless your arms are fully extended on the way down. i've seen to many guys cheat and not go all the way down.

we used to do 4 sets of 5 with 45lbs plates hanging from a belt and our legs sticking straight out. talk about hard......

in three sets of as many as I could do, with a 5 min break in between each set, I was able to do 20-21-18.

In the Marine Corps, for a pull up to count you have to start from a dead hang - come all the up (chin over the bar) and return to a dead hang before you begin the next. Also, you lower body has to remain still, i.e. - no kipping, no bicycling your legs, and if by chance you lift your legs while doing the pull up, your knees cant come above waist level.

By doing it this way - you can see how many ACTUAL pull ups your muscles are capable of, and not how much momentum you can muster to get your chin over the pull up bar.

I've seen guys do 20-25 with kipping allowed, and then move to dead hang and only get 8. Just a few things to think about.
