Doctors are quacks...

Unread postby LHSpolevault » Thu Jul 28, 2005 10:54 am

Okay so around 5 months ago I visited an orthopedic surgeon for my ankle...

When I walk there is immense pain and it's sometimes hard to put pressure on, and I can move it around so that it cracks really really loud (almost like the noise you hear when you walk on gravel)

Here's what he did: Looked at the X-Rays, said "hmm...okay, hmm" and said one second. He came back, gave me a brace and said "this should do the trick."

Riiighttt, what trick was he talking about? I'm in the same situation now, can anybody tell me what might be wrong with my ankle? lol

During surgeory the doctor must cut through tendons and muscles to fix the problem. E.g. when they insert screw in ur bone, the must cut through fascia, tendon sheaths and muscles, all of these stabalize bone, joints, and keep everthing in their proper alignment (think of when they sutured Schillings loose tendon to his skin, thus keepin it in place.) After surgery, the bone placment, spurs, or w/e is fixed, but the muscles, tendons and fascia need time to heal and become strong (my wrist is still not 100% after my surgery but is gettin better everyday). The brace was given to become temporary stabilization, do to the lack of natural stabilization. Give it a little more time, if something is still wrong, it may be do to scar tissue, which can be removed with ultrasound or another proceddure.
