Off Season Training

I'm rebuilding my track program, literally from the ground up. I live in Lancaster, PA, and I need help figuring out off season training for my pole vaulters. My best pole vaulter is a swimmer who stays in shape in the off season, but we would like to get him in the air a little earlier, but we don't have access to a pit. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a swimmer and vaulter kinda in your position. We're gonna try doing a lot of sprint work with and without poles and work on approaches with a sliding box with carpet on the outside. It's not real jumping but it'll be better than nothing. We're still experimenting though too. Hope it helps!

Ring and High Bar work for a start - would anyone else lime to add to this?

Do a lot of plant drills in a sand pit. Work on perfecting your vaulter's mechanics while using a stiff pole. This will carry over into his vault and really help him when the seawon actually begins.
