Foot Injury: Need Suggestions

Anyone else have this problem?

Every time I jump, my left foot (the foot I jump off of), around my big toe area, hurts after the first jump. The hurting sensation only occurs when I either jump on it or run on my toes. I went to a podiatrist and he told me that I had inflamed my flexor tendon (maybe because of overuse). What ever it may be, my left big toe area hurts like hell every time I jump. I cannot practice vaulting because of this injury.

Is there anything I can do to help this heal?

Thanks for the help.

p.s. This injury might have occurred because I jumped off of a pull-up bar too high up and landed on my foot.

I had an ankle injury in soccer and the best thing you can do is rest it. Just take a month off and see how it feels afterwards.

Ice and rest should help, but if it's not getting better soon you should probably see a real doctor. You could have fractured something when you jumped off the high bar.
