But im not alowed to practice on the matts untill we have a coach, so i was wondering if any one has any advice on difrent kinds drills that i could use, that dont involve the matt. Thank You!

ROPE DRILLS!
if you have access to a rope hanging from your gym ceiling or anywhere where it wont snap and kill you, you run through the vault on the rope by swinging straight upside down, and adding other various things to it, use the search tool right up there ^ and search rope drills and you'll find plenty

POLE RUNS - practicing your swing on a rope is pretty pointless unless you can run, plant, and takeoff consistently on. Do them on the track, establish a mid-mark (use the Search button at the top of the page and search DJ Six Stride Mid Mark), plant into a towel rolled into a "U" like the box, and have a teammate catching your mid and step. Measure your marks and record them.

I agree 100% with pole runs.
Sand vaulting will also be helpful. Practice it until you can go in a straight line, keep your top arm straight, and trail leg behind the pole.

How is it that a place like Visalia doesn't have a pole vault coach?
