Here is a favorite drill of mine (although I don't think I've ever seen it done by other schools). Set up a section of your pit about 12' from a wall that stands no more than 9' - 10' high. Put a 15' or longer pole against the wall and grip the top of the pole while standing on the edge. Drive your knee and push off with a long trail leg. Invert and turn through the air on your way to the pit.
This allows you to work on the top end where you will be doing it in competition - in the air. You Should be landing face down on the pit, fully extended, if your not then there you are probably only partially completing one or more steps.
