1) RUb a pumice stone on your hands after soaking in warm, soapy water.

2) Only do this one once or twice a week. If it's really bad, take a razor to get the calluses down. It sounds awful, but I've been doing gym for 10 years and have only ripped about 6 times. Make sure you use a really good lotion afterward.

3) Sandpaper. Once again, not too much, and make sure to lotion up afterward.

If you do rip, a wet tea bag works really well-twice a day for 20 min and you'll be fin in two-three days. Also neosproin and vasoline.

i use balm on my hands once it starts to rip, even while vaulting. just to keep it from further tearing

i use a callous razor every day after i vault, to keep them from getting to big, and stone after to smooth it all out. edges cause more tears too

you dont need a callous razor, just and ordinary razor used for shaving your legs. also to make them really smooth use sugar mixed with mineral oil.

yeah i just picked it up at the dollar store, and it had a case so it keeps it off the other stuff in my travel bag :yes:

ive never tried the sugar thing before, ill give it a whirl sometime

yeah the sugar thing works really good, especially after you cut off the callouses and rubbed a pumice stone on your hands

the hand e balm is okay, i've used it alot in the past but it can be messy. when i did gymnastics my coaches always told me to soak tea bags and then put them on your hands. It will leave some what of a stain, but it doesnt remain that way long. Also chalk can be a big help if you're talking about bar work and if you want to spend the money grips can be purchased from places like ten-0. i think their website is www.ten-0.com but im not sure.
