same thing happened to me last season, sept i dint sprain it that bad at all, but i kept telling the people at the meet that they had a big gap in the middle but hey they never fixed it. so i ended up rollin my ankle like 3 times.

yeah ankles are bad, we have a girl who has had ankle problems every year and its been following her around all the time...

I've actually rolled/sprained my ankles so many times that they randomly roll at will and nothing really happens (I don't feel any pain, no swelling, bruising, etc). One time I was running from the pv area at a meet to the other side of the track. Well, apparently they had decided to construct a foot wide drain or something that went down about 6 inches between the field and the track. I didn't see it, my ankle totally gave out and rolled when I came down on it, my teammate started freaking out, and I just kept on running. I didn't feel a single thing :confused:

My ankles are the same way :dazed:

My first practice back at school this winter, we were jumping over some cones or something, and I twisted my ankle on the way down and fell HARD. My coach ran over with the most horrified look on his face... yeah I was fine. It didn't even swell.

Sprains are so much worse then broken bones...in the long wrong. Since it stretched the tendons and ligaments, its almost impossible to get to 100% normal. If you take anatomy, one of the things u learn that even though muscles get stronger, ligaments and tendons don't (hence those on steriods have joint problems) best thing to do for ankle problmes is work them out, running on sand, or get a wobble disc. Also, icing after hard workouts even if its not sore or tender is also a good idea. Hope this helps, seeing i have bad ankles too.

wait....y'all said heating your ankle was bad...but if your 100% sure its a sprain it can help right? I was told taht after 48 hrs all the swelling has already happened and icing isnt that effective, but ice and heat constricts the blood vessels and forces the swelling out.. :confused:

I was just saying that before you see a doctor its best to think that u have have the worse injury. Even if the swelling has gone down, a torn muscle will be even more damaged with heat. So just stick to ice till u can see a doctor. I once thought my calf was sore, so i kept streching it and heating it. It turns out i torn it in half about 3/4 the way down and the heating didn't help.
