Tendinitis

Unread postby rebelvaulter » Fri Jan 23, 2004 3:48 am

:star: I have tendinitis in my rotator cuff, and also found out that my capsule is shrinking... 2 weeks later I found out that one of my old teammates also had tendinitis in her rotator cuff. She hadn't been training with us for 6 months so i don't think its just because of our training. Has anybody else developed this problem? If so what are you doing about it and did you take time off or just work through the pain? I can usually vault without it getting too bad but I still can't do some of our gymnastics stuff that isolates the shoulders. I want to go back to lifting weights but I am afraid that it will just make it worse. :star:

I've got patellar tendonitis but its not quite the same. Really the only way tendonitis will fully heal is by taking time off from all exercise that involves the affected body part until it is 100%.

Go to a physical therapist There are some exeercises you should be doing to avoid this from becoming a chronic re-occurring problem down the road.

Depending where your shoulder is at now you may still be able to vault 1-2 times a week if you don't lift/and do the gymnastics-another reason to get it evaluated.

I have patella tendonitis in both knees, and another form in my right. Really once you have it the only way to do anything about it is take some advil/aleve, what ever floats your boat, and work through it. I have had practices where I had to stop because it just got so bad.
