stay in shape?

stay in shape?

i broke my elbow (the radial head) and messed up some ligaments in there... :(
what can i do to stay in shape?

Can you run? If so, do it.

Can you do sit ups or leg lifts? Do it. I would hold off from arm lifting with your good arm because you will end up with one strong arm and one weak arm.

Do leg stuff with dumbbells if you can't use a bar.

I disagree with this. It has been shown that training the uninjured side actually helps maintain strength on the injured side. It's believed to be a neurological response rather than a response to maintain muscle mass but that is still a desirable benefit.

Also, it's better to have one strong arm than two week arms.
