I really need a logo so I can get a banner made. Help!!! I have no skills in that area.
I am really just looking for a simple pole vaulter graphic. I can add the words later.
Make me a good one that I use and I will give you a free t-shirt and possibly more.

What's wrong with the current logo on the site? Can't that be used on a banner? I like to keep things consistent so there is a "brand" recognition.

I don't have a logo. You mean the thing up top? I think same problem we had with the t-shirts, you can't just screen print something complicated with 50 different colors.

Bruce Florman sent me a neat one. It just needs the curves smoothed out so I can blow it up and not have it be jagged.
Does anyone here have the photoshop skills to do that?

Can't he just resave it at higher res?

Can you show us that image and make it available for download?

A logo should be created as a vector graphic. That way it can be sized as needed without any jaggies.

Oh sure, if ya wanna be all professional.
It sounded like Becca needed something quick, so I just sent her what I had laying around. The itty-bitty version is part of my avatar. The XXL version that I blew up for her with an el cheap-o paint program yesterday is here:
http://i7.tinypic.com/219yvdx.gif although IE doesn't seem to want to display it (maybe 9000x7000 is too big?).
Anyway, I suspect that Becca's use of the term "logo" is misleading. She's certainly welcome to do whatever she wants with it, but I'm guessing the plan is just to use it for a big banner this weekend, and what she really meant was "decorative image that's not completely boring". I don't think she's planning on putting it onto the t-shirts.

Bruce, I didn't mean any criticism. Perhaps I should have asked Becca where she wanted to use it, and when. Unfortunately it has been my experience that when I ask those kind of questions, people get upset. They don't realize how much of a difference it makes. This has even been the case when my wife has done posters with corporate sponsor logos. The will send her a jpg or gif or bmp file and want it to be a high quality image when it gets sized appropriate for the poster. It is an education process I've been through many times.
That is a nice image, and if I had access to Adobe Illustrator I could re-create that image as a vector graphic. Unfortunately, I'm travelling now and don't have that program on my notebook computer.
Becca, with that in mind:
1) what are you looking for
2) where and how are you going to use it
3) when do you need it
4) if it is to be a vaulter profile, do you want it to be male or female

I have a friend who is supposed to be making it a vector image for me tonight.
Bruce is right, I am looking for something quickly, for next weekend. If someone produces something nicer after then, I will definitely keep it on file.
This is not necessarily something for t-shirts, though I may incorporate it in the future.
I like what Bruce made. Something along those lines.
Male or female, I don't care.
I am not sure exactly when I need it by.
