The Florida Pole Vault Academy is hosting a Beach Vault competition on Clearwater Beach on 7/21/12. Sorry I forgot to post in the camp/competition announcements earlier, but the information about the event is a follows:


• Raised runway and pit set up directly on the sand on Clearwater Beach
(North side of 7 Rockaway Street, Clearwater, FL 33767)
• Age divisions as follows: Sub Youth, Youth, Intermediate, Young, Open, Masters
• (Large) Trophies for 1st place in each age group, Medals for 1-3, Participation medals for everyone
• Registration is now open at www.coacho.com
• Cost is $25, must be registered in advance at coacho.com
• Will be ran by 5 of the top PV officials in the state
• Media coverage by multiple local newspapers, TV stations and radio stations planned.
• 100 vaulters anticipated!
• Event T-Shirts and other souvenirs will be available.
• Packet pickup/weight in/implement check at 7am
• Girls warm up 730am, competition start at 830am
• Boys Begin when girls are finished
• Professional photography and videography of the entire event!
• Food, drinks, and fun on the beach!

Valid AAU or USATF membership required.

Well; have about 20 of mine, 15-20 from 727 track club, 10-15 from hilltop, 10-15 from high standards, 5-10 unattached not including yours, and hopefully I can get a couple more clubs to commit over the next few weeks. We really want to end up over 100, and think we may be close, but really need to get the word out.

And yes, I am going to do my best to set up the runway with a tailwind... hopefully the runway doesnt get too short for the tall guys.
