All Pole Vault-All the Time Meet is a big Success... Again!

Unread postby PV-ATL » Sun Jun 10, 2012 3:56 pm

The 2nd Annual All Pole Vault-All the Time Invitational at Emory University, Atlanta, GA was again a great Pole Vault meet! Almost all the meet records were broken and we had some, I beleive, National leading marks, as well.

HIGHLIGHTS:

The Middle School meets were exciting. Especially the Girls meet. Carson Dingler cleared a GA State best of 10-10. This may be a Nation leading mark. The 7th Grader, upped her PR twice during the meet. She was backed up by PV-ATL's Becky Arbiv with a 9-7 PR jump. Becky is also just in 7th Grade. State Runner-up Mitt Conerly cleared 11-5 to set a new meet record to win the Boys MS meet.

The High School meets lived up to the high expectations, even though the Boys fought a head wind all day. In the "B" level meets Ryan Whetton (PV-ATL) surprised in the Boys division with a 12-1 PR to win it. PV-ATL's Adrienne Lee took the "B" Girls on the count back with a 9-5 jump.

The "A" High School meets were competive. In the Girls meet, defending Champ Reed Hancock won at 11-5. Her World Class teamate Holly Ebbetts mached that, but was out-jumped on the count-back. The real fire-works were in the Boys Meet. Defending Champ Austin Eckenroth took gold with a 15-10, meet record clearance. Three more boys were over 15-0: Tray Oates & James Wenk at 15-4 and Tyler Craig of GA PV Club at 15-1.

Over-all it was a great meet! Thanks to all those coaches, athletes and parents that helped out. Thanks to Coach Matt Barry and Coach Robbie Roberts, who ran the pits. Thanks to all the PV-ATL members who worked the standards and cross-bars. Thanks to SMART Meet's George Stephens for the great meet management! Oh... and to the Coach who ran the paperwork at Pit 1. I for got your name, but not what a great job you did!

See everybody for another terrific meet next year! Results are below...

Cheers,
