It is a commuter camp, so no hotels. If you decide you need one, look in the Mission Valley area of SD.
Thanks

SAN DIEGO - San Diego State track and field will play host to the SDSU Pole Vault Camp at the school's Aztrack on Jan. 4-5, 2007. The day camp is open to vaulters of all ability levels and will be taught by an accomplished four-person staff.
The camp is $150 with no housing provided. Athletes are responsible for bringing their own lunch. The deadline to apply is Dec. 29 with a deposit of $100 due at the same time. The balance of the fee is due at check-in. A confirmation e-mail will be sent upon receipt of deposit.
Each athlete should bring his/her own pole, running shoes, sweats, towels, athletic tape and spikes. There is a maximum spike length of 3/16 pyramid allowed on the Aztrack. No other spikes will be allowed.
The camp will be taught by a distinguished group of individuals that include Mike LoBue, Rich Fox, Jonathan Takahashi and Shayla Balentine.
LoBue, an assistant coach at San Diego State, coaches the field events on Montezuma Mesa. In addition to his Aztec duties, he also coaches pole vaulters in the Sheffield Elite Track Club. In his career, he has produced many high-caliber vaulters from the high school level up to the professional ranks.
Fox, a volunteer assistant coach at SDSU, has developed an Aztec pole vault group that is considered one of the best in the country. During his tenure, he has coached two 14-foot female athletes in each of the last two seasons. Under his tutelage, SDSU has had 32 all-conference performances, won four Mountain West Conference titles, provisionally qualified for the NCAA 26 times and sent four student-athletes to the national meet, with one earning All-America honors.
Takahashi is a Sheffield Elite athlete who in 2006 had a breakout season. His top vault is 18'5" and registered a sixth-place finish at the United States Track and Field Championships. He later went on to represent the U.S. at the DECCA Nation Meet in France.
Balentine, a former Aztec, is another member of Sheffield Elite, who is the former national high school record holder in the pole vault (13'8"). At San Diego State, she vaulted 14'2" and finished second at the NCAA Championships.
The camp will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with check-in on the first day at 9:30 a.m. For more information call (619) 913-0029 or e-mail pvcoachboo@aol.com.
