Yes, definitely! I don't know how to make the link show up on the message board, but if you go to the webpage I made, just click on the "Make a Donation" link.

I'm in for $100. Let's everybody do something no matter how large or small. Best case - she has money left over to pay for her thousands of unpaid hours she devotes to her/our passion! Bubba

I used to live in Germany (military brat :P) and I've been all over Europe and most countries arn't very fond of America, especially right now. Nobody hates Canada.

I don't think you need to hide your origins unless things have changed a lot since I was there (15 years). Europe will love you! A woman in East Berlin just about hugged the breath out of me when she found out I was Yank (of course, she had lived through the Berlin Airlift). Even in Paris I was treated as welcome, after being assured that they would snub me.

There were drunken GI's (no reference to the czar) who just looked for trouble and they found it. But if you were to ask directions to der Bahnhof or l'Hotel d'Ville I think that most everyone would be eager to help.

I agree, I am going to study abroad this fall in Europe and I do not believe that we should be ashamed of who we are, I am very proud.

Hope you have a great time Becca!~liz

I had a blast when I was in Europe after graduating from college. I wish I would have been healthier so I could have trained better and competed in more meets.

As a self-employeed pole vaulter I don't have much, but I figure every buck helps, imagine if everyone on the site donated a buck. Becca could eat more than tuna and crackers while shes there. ;)

Have fun I'm looking forward to seeing pics.

As of this morning, I have finished fundraising!!

I just wanted to thank everyone for the support. Any funds raised that exceed my costs to Europe will go toward my travel fund to Indianapolis for the USA Track and Field National Championships.

A change of plans, we are going to a meet in the Netherlands (Thales FBK Games) instead of the meet in France. The women's pole vault is only a national-level competition, but they let Erica in anyway.

A lot less driving for us, and we will get to see some great men's competitions (I think there is a street vault 2 days before as well).

Check out the new itinerary http://www.polevaultpower.com/roadtrip/ ... nerary.php

Hey guys, Erica and I had a safe trip over and the poles made it OK and everything. We are in Dresden right now, headed to Turnov tomorrow!

I am uploading all my pictures to Facebook for now. I will upload a few to Treemo, and I will make a public album with them all when I get back or something. Treemo: http://www.treemo.com/users/polevaultpower/channel/
