Beginner videos

Unread postby mwerner » Sat May 08, 2004 10:49 pm

I'm working with beginners in Jr. high. Does anyone know of a website with video clips or progressive photos showing vualters that can't yet bend the pole?

Stabhochsprung.com Don't get me wrong, I love Neovault, but stab allows you to play the vids in quicktime, so you can scroll through the vault at will. I have trouble getting the Neovault videos to work in anything other than Winamp.

Its not a video but you will find pretty precise instructions on how to introduce young athletes to bending a pole -after they have mastered some of the key elements of the vault such as the run and plant with a stiff pole - in "Beginner to Bubka"

I know that you asked for websites, but you might look into Jan Johnson's video # 4. It has step-by-step drills for a lot of beginners. I do nearly all of those dirlls with my high school vaulters during the first month of the season.

His website, www.pvscb.com also has a lot of short video clips for beginning drills.

I have a few pictures from high school meets online... and a TON more on my computer that I will get online this summer.

You'll have to sort through and find ones that show kids doing something right, but there are a few.
