Just go watch the videos on http://www.stabhochsprung.com.

You'll learn more from that than reading the pissing contests on this board. :P

Hang in there with the folks on ths forum. You will be able to talk to and bounce off ideas with some of the best vaulting coaches and vaulters in the world right here. Also, if you have not done it yet, get the book "Beginner to Bubka". It's THE text book for our sport. It's author contributes to our forum regularly. He goes by the moniker "altius". The best part about the book, BTB is that it starts at the beginning and takes a vaulter all they way from beginner to the best he or she can be.The key thing is, apply what you learn. With the book and a video camera recording your jumping, You will have the tools to coach yourself correctly when an outside coach is not available. You can PM altius and he will tell you how you can order the book. Get it now! Later................Mike

You have to drop your shoulders downwards and drive your hips upwards. It's like doing a stifflegged deadlift. They show you how to do it in "Begginner to Bubka"

This takes lower ab and back strength.
work out your hip flexures as well like doing leg-lifts.

try working on your inversion on a pull-up bar. Swing your feet until it touches your hands and drive your hips. It will be hard if you are trying this for you first time.

Like what the others said, keep watching videos and see how they do it.
