I have a problem. i just got on a bigger pole, but i dont penetrate very well. I have good speed and a decent plant, My coach thinks it might be that im not dragging my trail leg, and not jumping forward(driving) very much. Anyone know any drills for this? I am out of ideas except to keep practicing, but we dont get to vault much.

First of all, if you are having a hard time getting the penetration you need on the pole you are on, lower your grip and/or go to a slightly softer pole. To develop a good drive, typically i will work on Houvians. This is basically the first portion of the vault, but you do not swing up, but instead focus on keeping pressure on the pole by driving the chest, and keeping the hips back. This should help over time, but do not expect miracles right away. As we all know, vaulting is not an overnight thing.

there is one drill that i use when i go to a really big pole for the first time

i call it a "tester"
just plant the pole but hit it as hard as you can and just drive and drive and drive, dont try to swing or anything just drive and then ride it out, just do this several times until you build up your confidence and then you should be reddy to go

the point is (if the pole is the right pole for you) if you are not penetrating you may be "backing off" over the last couple of steps
just make sure that you really bring it strong over the last four steps and you should be OK
