Quick question: How likely is it for someone jumping 11', to improve by 3 feet, and jump 14' in the span of .. oh lets say 4 months?
Why I ask? Well I kind of want to try and walk on at UCI, but i'm only at 11'. Any hope? or should I forget about vaulting in college.

If you really want it, and willing to bust your a** for it for 4 months, you can get it.. I went from 9'6" to 13'6" a year ago in half that time, so ill be one to attest its certainly possible

Get ahold of jay, he's the coach over there, really awesome guy. talk to him about walking on for next season, as soon as you can, it's good to talk to them and let them know you are thinking about it and everything. If it turns out that you don't end up vaulting there at UCI this year, there are club teams out there that get togeather that you could check out too..

my best boy pole vaulter went from 11' 6 to 14' 0 this season. It is possible, but it depends on more than just starting and ending points.

Don't worry even if u don't make it this year its not the end of the world you can just keep on training and try again. Never give up.

Don't be a part time athlete, and stick with it! I went from 10 to 16'9 in a year; but I was borderline obsessive, and I trained my a$$ off!!!!

Well, I guess i'll train my arse off and see where it takes me. Thanks for the motivation.
