Problem with steps
I've just started vaulting again after a four year hiatus from the sport. I'm currently a high school senior. The technique came back pretty easily, but I'm having problems with my steps. It seems that everytime I take off down the runway, my stride is different. Is there any way to correct this problem?

Re: Problem with steps
Pole runs and more pole runs. Just be very conscious that your running posture is correct or pole runs will just instill bad habits. Run tall and erect with high knees. First step should be a high knee drive, while staying tall and erect. You'll have a slight lean forward to get that first step, but keep that lean minimal. If you start the run correctly with the first step, you will most likely hold that correct tall and erect posture with high knees all the way down the runway.
