Pulling
Any tips on how to pull and when to pull while in the air.
im getting all these different advices and tips, and i'm just really confused
when i jump i keep trying to focus and think on that i can pull, but i dont.
i get my legs up pointing towards the sky, but my top hand arent by my hips...
oh and usually when i jump i keep thinking im pulling, but really im just getting up to the L-position, and turning right away

The key is to keep your hips moving in the direction you wish to go (up). Once you've established a good position on top through lots of practice, you can start worrying about when to pull.
Did the bamboo and steel pole vaulters wait on the recoil of the pole to somehow thrust them into the air and 3 feet over their grips? NO! They pulled at the right time to keep their hips moving up. The advantage of a bending pole is the ability to grip higher. The intentions are still the same.

Some pretty good advice from Tim McMichael and altius.
The thing is, is that usually when you tell somebody to pull, they think that to mean do a pull up and then push over the bar. Yes, there's armwork, but it's very specific, and it's often misinterpreted/applied.

try straight pole-ing from 3 or 5 lefts and focus on getting back to the pole. make sure you have a strong drive knee and row your top arm to the inside of your drive knee thigh. i think about getting my hips over my head. once you get that, it will be easier to turn off the top of the pole. unless you are lined up with the pole, 'pulling' is going to do you no good. it just takes alot of practice

today i just did a bunch of pop ups
3 steps gripping low too
my coach said i did fine for popups, but he told me i should start focusing on bring my elbow inside because i put my elbow on the left side of the pole.
my swing was fine, my rockback was pretty decent, and i wasn't pretty sure if i was getting in that I position...
