Drill 1: Some kind of standing/walking planting drill
- This wouldn't be so bad except the guy's chin is stuck to his chest because he is looking down so much
Drill 2: Similar thing with a little more speed and a bit of a jump
- Same as above plus he tends to have the pole a bit more in front of him than I like to see, which is probably going to happen if you are staring at your toes.
Drill 3: Sand vaulting
- I hate it when people suck their legs forward and land on their trail leg when doing sand vaulting and straight pole drills with no swing. More on that later.
Drill 4: One handed plants (sliding the pole into the pit)
- He's running from way too far away and has to overstride badly to get there. He also is holding too low and sucks his hips in as mentioned with the sand vaulting drill.
Drill 5: Same as above but carrying the pole
- Still bounding down the runway, and he is holding too low and has to pull with the top arm to maintain balance
Drill 6: Same as above with swing
- Still holding way too low and actually curls into a ball and pulls with the top arm to get himself upside down
Drill 7: Same as above with turn to stomach
- Same issues as above
Drill 8: Full vault
My conclusion is that the progression is a solid one, but they should find a demonstrator who is better at drills!
