Saw a kid hold on like that and he hit the sweet spot where he stayed in the air balanced on a bent pole. Pole broke and he impaled his bicep on the bottom piece when he fell.

Thats frick'in amazing, it doesnt look like it hurt that bad though so... LOL


and to ACHTUNGPV thats my only fear in polevaulting, that would just suck.

thats because he doesnt keep his bottom arm out at his takeoff and he lets it hit him in the chest...poor form

One of my fellow vaulters did this in high school when I was getting ready to catch the pole. The only difference was that he let go when the pole was completely bent. The pole shot like a rocket and hit me in the chest....Luckly, I only had a huge bruse

That could have been well worse! He rolled out nicely... And Besmer would have been proud! He never let go of the pole!
