New Pole Tips
Moving from a 13'6" 155lb to a 14' 150lb......any tips or thoughts on how I should start out? Transfere my old grip about about 13' or start out moving back to 13'6" on the 14'er.

when you switch to the bigger pole you should hold at the same spot. The bigger pole is only going to add about 5lbs more stiffness (depending on flex # of course).... You're not making a very big jump up on poles here so it shouldn't stand you up. On the other hand if you're getting very good penetration already (and bending the heck out of the old one) and you move up to the top of the new one, there's a good chance you'll bend it further, and maybe snap it. There are a lot of variables to consider, thats why its always a good idea to first try to jump at the same hand grip, then make adjustments from there depending on where you land.

you are missing some information that would be helpful. why did you switch poles? were you landing in the back of the pit? were you overbending the pole because it is too soft? where is your take off point, are you on or inside or outside. All of these things are important to consider when changing poles and determining your new grip location. In most cases matching grip is a good starting point. If you make larger changes though, moving down a couple of fingers will ensure that you land in the pit, not the runway or any other dangerous places.
