Can't make the pit on my new pole!

Unread postby gatorade » Tue Apr 20, 2004 7:44 pm

Hello everyone.
Alright, here is my problem, I can clear 13' with a 13' 150 pole gripping at about 12'6" and I can penetrate into the pit pretty well, landing in the center of the mats everytime. But when I get onto a 14' 165 I get rejected everytime and land on the grass in front of the mats. I know this is a huge difference in poles but I have to get on a pole that meets my weight requirements. (I weigh about 160.) I need to know why I cant get on this larger pole. Any and all advice is greaty needed and appreciated.

You need a shorter pole rated at or above your weight. Try and find a 13'160.

If the 14' 165 is all you have, move your grip way down until you are landing in the pit. Yeah you'll just be straight poling, but it's pretty hard to clear anything if you can't get in the pit.
