Staying in control
I was wondering after the take off, what do you need to do in order to stay controlled in the air. What I mean by that is how do you not go crazy with your legs and twist your body around while in the air? Thanks

Re: Staying in control
It will all come when you work on the stuff in Dave Butlers video that I posted on your "take off" thread. Keep in mind this is your first year vaulting. You are not going to look like Steve Hooker or Bubka for quite a while. You can however work towards that end. Even though the "links" in the chain of events have to be seamlessly connected, they are "links" that you can work on separately. As to squirlyness in the air, that will improve more and more as you focus on improving the links leading up to that point. If you're jumping on a bending pole, get off of it unless you're doing 10 plus feet. That bending pole will hide flaws in technique that you'll have to have down as you move up. Seriously Andy, watch the video......again. Most of your issues will be taken care of once you apply what Butler is suggesting. Good luck.........and as always........Later..............Mike

If you're flailing around in there are, there are a few things that you might need to do:
A-Run faster
B-Hold lower on the pole
C-Make sure you're hands come straight up on the plant, NOT round-housing.
D-Make sure your steps are on, NOT under.
