Try moving your run in a few feet. Focus on increasing your cadence during the last 3 lefts.
Focus. Be confident in your abilities.
Don't do a run back at the competition. That's one way to almost guarantee your run will be 'off'. Instead, find it on your own runway and/or track BEFORE the competition.
Other than that, there's not much you can do. Four days is not enough time to fix most problems like this... Sometimes it takes 4 months! Or longer!
Hope that's helpful... If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask.

I am guessing you either take 6 giant steps (3 lefts) or stutter and take 8 steps (4 lefts). Does that sound right? Unless you are starting on the wrong foot (taking 7 steps) or have a weird skipping start. Let me know how many steps you take and we'll go from there...

One thing that we've done, to help correct stutter stepping, is to run at the mat WITHOUT a pole and jump. Count your steps as usual, but do it while running without the pole. [So you don't jump too early.]
Some people may say this will cause you to run strange...however, USUALLY it's a psychological thing,at least with my team, not a physical thing, so the running through without a pole REALLY helps.
Try running through w/o 4-5 times, then try with the pole, from normal steps.

It's too late to start worrying about furthering any technical skills... Just do what you know, and BE AGGRESIVE, but still in control.

If you are taking 8 steps when you stutter and 8 steps when you don't stutter, I would guess you are just too close. 40' is a pretty small run for 8 steps.
Take a tape measure out to the track and do pole runs there. After you do a few and feel comfortable, measure your run and see how it compares to the runway. Make sure you have a powerful first step every time. If you are inconsistent on your first step, your run will always be off.

Just to clarify...
You have two opposing arguments, one from RG, one from myself. Realize that they are not the same.
Try both approaches, and see what works. Try to get something on film.

PP, she's only been vaulting for 2 months, so I doubt that it's going to take her 4 months to fix her stutter step. It should always take considerably shorter to BREAK a bad habit that it took to DEVELOP it.
I'm not saying she can fix it in 4 days (which has already passed), but with the right attitude and coaching, some flaws like this can be fixed quite easily.
Actually, there's probably more important flaws that she can work on in the past 4 days. I don't know what they are, but a stutter step in the middle of a beginner's run is relatively unimportant.
For example, maybe just work on reaching as high as possible when planting?

Well, what happened at the meet? Did you make any sort of adjustmets? How well did they work?
