3rd day of practice was today.. which also meant my first day of any type of vaulting :) it was sooo good.. felt so great to get back on the pole again. teaching a few of the new vaulters was fun, as they were picking up on things quick... this topic really has no point, but i'm in a really good mood for once and i'm excited as hell for friday to come when i teach them some more of the mechanics for when they're in the air. OH MAN I"M PUMPED!

btw... i completed my first backflip on the pole :) heh.

dude I totally know what u mean. Yesterday was my first day of practice and I was so excited that I posted basically the same thing as u did, except I forgot to press submit...... my bad. Anyway, even though its freakin 10 degrees out its still AMAZING. So yeah this also has no point but to express my joy.
By the way, hows the ACL?

This post also has no point to it, except to also explain my excitement to be practicing once again. Although veryyy cold the past couple days, any practice is better than no practice, which was basically how indoor went.

Can't wait to practice more, and good luck to everyone.

There is no point to this post except to say that as a coach it's even colder WATCHING these guys vault. Especially FX.

Haha yeah seriously. At least when you are vaulting you are running around and staying warm.

Although coaching, you can wear think gloves the whole time and not have to take them off

new england vaulting will always be like this , being a new englander you gotta learn how to suk it up and jump as high and as welol as you can when its 40 degrees out with a negative wind chill factor. but i love it, we went to FL for spring training and i was dying in the heat i actually missed the brisk new england air hahah whatever , we went back this weekend and it was nicer first meet , went 17 feet off to a great start this season. keep your eye out for this guy you fellow new englanders because jake is back

Jake, Way to go man. That's terrific news. Seventeen is a pretty good jump where I come from. Did I ever tell you about the time that I jumped 17'4"? No kidding, I got out of the long jump pit, brushed the sand off, and everybody gave me a high-five. ;) That's the only way that I ever jumped 17'4"!

thanks russ i appreciate it, it feels good to finally be jumpin well again. but 17 is nothing because i was over 17 6 as well. which was awesome so im lookin for some big heights this season, im still holdin around 15' 2 on a 16 185 im weighin around 172 now so i still have some bigger sticks to get to as well which will toss me higher and higher, i gotta represent for New England

oh yeah... first meet today, we won by a lot. it was windy as heckkk. nasty cross/head winds. i cleared 9ft gripping at about 8'4" from a 6 step approach (3 lefts)... guess im getting a little more efficient, hope i can turn that efficiency into my jumps for my higher grips :).
