It's now official. I've registered "Skyjumpers-Connecticut" (thanks for giving me permission to use the "Skyjumpers" name, Jan!) as a USATF Club in Connecticut. We are CT club number number 250.
The club is based in Norwich, CT. For the next 5 weeks we'll have fall jumping. At present there are no membership fees. That'll probably have to change when we find a winter/indoor home (which I'm working on).
I'm holding down a website, but it isn't functional yet. Eventually I hope.
For now, we are having an "open pit" on Sundays in my backyard from 3-6 pm, and an occasional Thursday afternoon. It has about 80 feet of runway. Most guys are okay doing 4-5 lefts, and the girls can probably run from 6 (although most don't do more than 5). "Open pit" means that I'm not giving lessons or instruction per se, but you've got to follow my rules and do what I say for safety reasons. We have a lot of fun, but we've got a pretty serious group of jumpers (one New England High School Champion and 5 CT State High School Champions have been regulars).
Since the website isn't up and running yet, if you want more information, directions, or if you want to be added to my e-mail distribution list, e-mail me at ancientlex@hotmail.com.
For insurance purposes, you must be a USATF member to participate.
Once I have a funcional website, I'll post to this site.

It's a very crude website at present. It's just a beginning.

We had an "open pit" tonight that went very well. We'll try to continue on Friday nights at East Lyme High School at 6:30 pm (at least for the month of February). It's an elevated runway and a full-size Pacer high school pit.
