Colonels' Jan Carlson sets two state marks
Brattleboro senior Jan Carlson closed her varsity track career in style on Saturday, competing in the New England Outdoor Championships in Maine and taking home a pair of Vermont state records.
Carlson set Division I records in the pole vault and the triple jump, and her 10-foot vault tied the state record in all divisions. That was good for eighth place overall, and she grabbed a sixth-place finish in the triple jump with a 36 foot, 11 inches leap to set another D-1 record for the Green Mountain State.
