■ Kaylan Pickford (11 feet) and Matt Fitch (12 feet) of Norwich Free Academy each won the pole vault Friday night at the McGreavy Invitational at the Freeman Athletic Center in Middletown. Pickford is just the fourth girl in Connecticut to clear 11 feet (indoors). Kim Johnson placed second (10-6) and Jess Banning fifth (9-0) in the girls' meet, while Josh Fish was fourth (11-0) in the boys.
