Pole vaulter sets the bar high for success on the national level

Great Bridge junior Mike Morrison jumped even higher into national prominence over the weekend when he cleared 16-8¾ to win the pole vault at the Southern Track Classic in Richmond.

Morrison, who bettered his previous best by 8 inches, now ranks third nationally in the high school pole vault this outdoor season.

Morrison, the 2005 Group AAA state indoor champion, missed three attempts at 17-1½ .

Congrats Mike...Morrison and Magness need to go to college now, so states is an actual competition. O:-)
