nj helmets?

Unread postby njvaulter » Tue Mar 30, 2004 10:31 pm

My coach just told me today that I have to wear helmets today. He said it was a new rule. Is this a new rule in NJ?

are they going to provide you with one, since I guess it is now a part of your uniform/vaulting equipment? much like football pads

We have helmets at our school. Yeah you look dumb wearing them....but hey its saves you. Cuz last year a guy on our team landed head first in the box. Turned out he was ok....but 100 or so stitches later...SO helmets arent that bad. AND Toby the olympian wears one :)

I haven't heard of a state wide rule making helmets mandatory. It might just be a rule that your school or conference has decided on.

my team has been to many meets where we are the only ones wearing helmets.....we get weird looks for wearing them, but we like the attention...plus my mama makes me wear it!! :P

I talked to my coach and he said it was a state wide rule and wasnt sure if it was this year or next . Kush said he didn't so I guess that means it must be next year.

ASk the state what helmet they recommend and will provide liabilty insurance on???? If the state makes it manditory they must provide a reliable source fro a helmet that protect the athlete in the pole vault event
