THE PVEI CAMP APPROACH
The PVEI Pole Vault Camp follows the teachings of the USA Track & Field National Pole Vault Development and High Performance Committee that was created in 1988 to re-establish pole vaulting in the United States to be the leader in the world in the event. This camp is being conducted by the coaches who formerly coached at the Slippery Rock Pole Vault Camps under the tutelage and support of Mark Hannay, and will present material that is sound, conservative, and recognized by the national pole vault committee in its library of articles, pvei.com

TYPICAL DAILY SCHEDULE
Mornings: 3 hour vaulting session. Jumping and imitative drill techniques Afternoon: Classroom instruction on the technique and safety of the pole vault along with vault-related issues and safety. Evening: 3 hour vaulting session. Jumping and imitative drill techniques followed by further classroom instruction. These sessions will be focused on individual attention and a variety of activities. The goal of the camp is to teach the vaulter, no matter the level of expertise, all of the components of the pole vault including safety. Included with this will be videotaping of performance and other recreational activities. We expect the vaulter to not only learn, but to have fun!
