Mike Dempsey was on a modified run on a 14' pole with a about a 13' grip and jumped 14-6 and was way over 14-9 but brushed it. Mike should be clearly the best vaulter in NY and one of the best in the nation this year, but he's had a broken wrist, broken foot, and severely sprained ankle this season. This is a kid that jumped 15-10 last year. He and his coach, Bob Bartula have done an amazing job. One of the best & gutsiest performances I've seen. Great job Mike!
