Its all good - I love vaulting and really want to help promote the sport in my local area.
Here's what I've got/done so far:
The website domain and hosting for a year
The Club registration fees for the next 2 years
All the video editing equipment we'll use at club practices (digital camera, my SWEET Mac, editing software - just upgraded to produce in HD as well)
VaultBrad hooked me up with the pit (my 2 brothers and girlfriend made the 8 hour drive to get them ) Check out this pic - http://community.webshots.com/photo/288 ... 9239tTRsTv
Runway will be ordered by the end of the week (my bank account is crying lol)
A small collection of poles that I hope will be growing soon.
Random accessories (bungies, tape, chalk, etc)

Once everything is established and organized there will probably be some club dues to help with random costs (travel expenses for meets/poles/etc)

CHC04Vault - I dont need any money right now - thanks for the offer - but if you could help spread the word about the new club and consider joining yourself that would be awesome :)
We need as much support as we can get.

Of course i will join!!! I was excited when u started ur first thread, besides, if i wanted to give money, wouldn't u think i would wanna join :D

I would deffinetly be interested in a club in around this area. Ive been attempting to set one up for the past year. Unfortunately Im in Northern VA so it will be a bit of a drive, but nothing i cant handle in the summer. Keep me posted (that is if lowly High Schoolers are admited :P )

Philly to the beach is about a 2 hour drive - who knows how long it will take with summer traffic...

**Update** (Repost from New England Region due to pertinence for both regions)

Ok - so I got all kinds of good news yesterday.

1. The runway finally came in (the base was poured last week) - so the rollout rubber in installed.

2. USATF FINALLY got back to me about the club - and it is now OFFICIAL :) I submitted to have it added to the PoleVaultPower club section for the New England and North East regions.

3. I just bought ANOTHER pit (now have 2) - as in a HUGE International size pit, that meets all the requirements for highschool/college/open competitions and such (should be picking it up within the next few weeks)

4. I also purchased 4 more poles to add to my tiny collection I'm trying to build

5. The website is up and running. You can check it out at HighVaultage.com (http://www.HighVaultage.com)
Its kinda struggling, cause its IMPOSSIBLE for me to find time to create/design/build/maintain the thing while I'm in the desert. If anyone has any tips, or thinks they can help out - I'm more than open to the idea.

6. I'm coming home from the desert the first week of May :D just had to add that in there.

Thats all I can think of for now. Thanks to everyone for their interest. Keep in touch and keep checking back for more updates.

Stephen,

Thats awesome! I should have more definitive dates of practices and times in the near future - right now I'm just focusing on getting my butt back to the states soon. Can't wait to vault this summer - keep in touch.

We'll definitely be holding open practices as well. I'll probably organize a few BBQ and vault kind of things over the summer as well. Not sure if I'll be able to get a beach vault ready for this summer - but you never know.

Also - I'm currently working on an indoor location for the fall/winter.

Used Vaulting Poles

Unread postby biglar » Thu Apr 21, 2005 1:44 pm

My son just began pole vaulting for his High School. Unfortunately they do not have a pole for his weight. We're looking for a 14' 155# pole. Are there sources for good used poles in the area?
