CHARLOTTE LATIN POLE VAULT CAMP

Charlotte Latin School Pole Vault Camp is designed to teach students the proper skills and techniques necessary to learn to the sport of pole vaulting with an emphasis on each of the following areas: safety, goal-setting, fitness and sportsmanship. The camp is open to all students ages 12 and older, as well as to all ability levels including those who have never vaulted before. Pole vaulting is a very technical event and this is a very good way to develop safe pole vaulting skills. Each student attending the camp will gain greater knowledge and understanding of what they need to jump high. Pole vaulting is a unique and complex sport. Having fun in the learning process is a bonus to this sport.

The five day session will teach students proper pole vault technique, drills, training, how to prepare a competitive event, equipment selection, mental aspects and video analysis. Campers will need to bring a vaulting pole, running shoes, track spikes, sun screen and dress appropriately for outdoor activity.
