"Along with the distances and sprints, Arkansas also got big points in the field events, including a victory by senior Jeremy Scott in the pole vault (18-0 1/2) and a second-place finish by sophomore Eric Brown in the javelin (234-7).
Scott became the first Razorback to win a conference outdoor pole vault title since 1948, when Guy Baker and M. L. Garing cleared 12-0. "
