Not quite the blow out everyone expected to see. Both Ashton Eaton and Trey Hardee have put in solid performances in almost every event with Hardee opening up the day with a surprise victory in the 110h. Right now they are going into the pole vault and Eaton has only a 99 point lead over Hardee.
Hardee would need to beat Eaton by .40 in the vault to take over the lead which may not be too easy with Eaton's recent 5.30 at the trials and what appears to be good weather in London right now. But Hardee's javelin PR currently stands 111 points better than Eatons. And then most everyone knows what the 1500 looks like.
Eaton still looks like a strong favorite but he has very little room for any mistakes.

Re: Olympic Decathlon Getting Exciting
Well after Eaton's world record performance at the trials he is defenitely the favorite, but the decathlon is a burley beast and anything can happen.....and it usually does!
