I just witness on TV some of the best technigue in the women's Pole vaulting I have ever seen.

Jenn Stuczynski 4.90m 16-00.75 American record had a very high take -off pivoted on the top hand grip and bent the pole from the swing. The pole was storing energy well and rolling high and the bottom of the pole was stiff and not bending into the pit.
It was the best technigue I have ever seen in a womens jump!!

She was at the World Record and I am sure she can jump it. America has a chance to win the Womens Olympic Pole vault this time around.
Very very Impressive.

Congrats to her coach and her hard work!!!

What's this?
CARSON, Calif. (AP) — The sweltering heat of southern California brought out the best yet in Jenn Stuczynski.
The 25-year-old from Churchville, N.Y., broke her American record in the pole vault at the Adidas Track Classic on Sunday, outshining Tyson Gay's sweep of the 100 and 200 meters and other strong performances by a powerhouse field at the Adidas Track Classic.

Stuczynski cleared 16 feet, 3/4 inches to break the mark of 16-0 she set last year in the Reebok Grand Prix in New York. Only world record holder Yelena Isinbayeva has gone higher. Stuczynski missed three times at a world record 16-5½.

"I feel like she is within sights," Stuczynski said of the Russian great, "but I still need to become a little more consistent and a little more confident, and there are still some technical things I need to work on."

Stuczynski also broke the American record at the Adidas meet last year, only to top it again in New York.

Temperatures on the track reached 110 degrees, and it was into the 90s in the shade, in front of half-empty bleachers at the Home Depot Center.

If she feels she still has technical aspects to work on, there is no doubt she is going to challenge yelena. I still remember seeing her at Reno last year jump like 15' feet and that was it. No telling how high she can go at that pace!

Hasn't she only been vaulting for 4 years? That's what they said on television... is this right?

They might have banned cameras in the stadium since it was a televised event.
