wow. never thought I'd say 15-footers are too small for a chick. ha ha. Jeez. Get her some 15'7s. Undergripped and too soft of a pole!
I absolutely love seeing all these youngsters coming up!

Congrats to Erin but..... I am going to have to disagree on the big pole theory. The famed Yelena Isinbayeva, a few years ago jumped on customed made 14'9" poles then transitioned back to 14'7s to jump her heighest heights (5.01). The three greatest jumps ever (Isi, Feo, Stucz.) all occured on 14'7" poles (5.01, 4.88, 4.88).
My points
1. The longer the pole the more you have to emphasize too much on turning it over and not enough on getting in position in the air. Positioning in the air is more important ex. Isinbayeva and Dragila
2. Never carry more pole behind you than you need (extra weight and harder to control in the run)
3. Erin's run looks good but WAY too long, if you look closely at the video she reaches top speed around 7 lefts and then starts to slow down through take-off. A good tail wind in the video helped to carry her through the take-off. The best women ever have taken 7 or 8 lefts.
---I do not take any credit away from Erin, a great jump and a great PR. But I think maybe a shorter sail piece and lower the grip two inches would result in her coming off the pole higher.
