Did anyone see any polevault on NBC...I thought I was doing a good job of watchin it...But I didnt see a THING!..

NOPE.....Didn't see a thing, I even recoreded it with my DVR, nothing!!

I love track & field, heart and sole, but the majority of the population can't get excited about watching people run circles around the track.

NBC and every other network that airs a meet SHOULD show more field events. Maybe pan in for the final lap or two of the 10,000m and BAM-back to some jumps, throws or sprints. I don't think the networks are helping track & field by using the format they've been using.

This is just my opinion. Hope this doesn't offend anyone. I coach track and this is just my observation of what the fans (other than the parents)are interested in.

maybe they show more distance races in the US so that it gets more a more popular. I think some top Track and Field people in the US have thoughts that Distance Athletes are not where they should be in the world for the US. I don't know, just thinking out loud and don't get me wrong, I wish they showed more field events on TV in the US.

Distance running is by far the most popular aspect of track and field participation in the US. Think about how many people run, from casual joggers to serious marathoners (or ultra runners!).
