I don't know if that was scott slover or not, but he did do 2 or 3 SBC commercials. I think only one of them has come out yet, it plays all the time here in California but I don't know about anywhere else.

Please please please DO NOT do any stock photography footage if you are approched. My roommate, Dave Pope, did stock footage and now is on a video game cover, and a Sprint PCS website because the company is selling his photo for profit. He makes no money on any of it other than the initial job. Any one who does it will lose money for everyone in the long run, especially in an event like the pole vault. It's a specialty that we have that shouldn't be exploited. I have so much distrespect for any one who takes simple 500 dollar jobs that are worth 2000 dollars. Thanks, Beam

Hey Beam did you ever get your sag card?

I finally saw one of the SBC commercials last night. pretty cool to see pv getting air time even if it is in a commercial
...success is doing what you can do well and doing well whatever you can do

Slover's getting some really good air time. The SBC commercials are really cool. Hysong's got an Allstate running, but I haven't seen any of the Toyota commercials. I'd really like to see those because of the stunts envolved. A Toyota pickup racing in a hurdle race, pole vaulting, or long jumping seemed like a really fun idea. I think Russ did the Toyota shoot. As far as SAG card, I usually get taft hartley'd into a job rather than paying SAG dues. I don't do that many pole vault commercials and they are too few and far inbetween to really justify being part of SAG. I can also do non union jobs that the SAG guys can't or shouldn't do. If you can pole vault, then all you need is the "profile" the commercial is looking for. There was a Target job long ago that I was on because they needed a "nerdy" looking pole vaulter. My chances increase on jobs like that, where they need a stunt double, or someone that looks young or skinny. :) I loath the auditions that require the vaulter to look "in shape" or "buff." Russ and Scott are the types for those jobs and I'm happy that any nice pole vaulter gets a gig. It's good money and should stay in pole vaulting. Don't do stock photography! And cuss out any stunt union guys that try to audition our work. lol. Beam
